About

Patrick Parrish Gallery

Exhibiting New, Unusual, + Sometimes Overlooked Modernist Artists + Designers of the 20th + 21st Centuries

The Backstory

Since opening his original 22nd Street location in September 2000, Patrick Parrish has drawn top designers (Steven Gambrel, Roman and Williams, Peter Marino), celebrities (Jennifer Aniston, Michael Stipe, Frances McDormand), and fashion industry elite (Jenna Lyons, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Thom Browne) to his galleries. Known for his selection of unusual furniture, lighting and art, Patrick Parrish also exhibited shows from artists such as RO/LU, Liam Lee, Jonathan Nesci, Nicholas Alan Cope, Eric Oglander, Andy Rementer, Clemens Kois, and Robert Loughlin to name a few.

Parrish’s eponymous new space continues to exhibit young, emerging artists and designers (he’s given many their first show in NYC) alongside his expected rare, mid-century pieces with a section of more affordable stuff (under $500).

Patrick Parrish Gallery exhibits the unusual, new, and sometimes overlooked designers and artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The gallery plays an active role in the contemporary art and design scenes and participates in several fairs per year, such as Design Miami/, Design Miami/ Basel, The Salon, FOG, NADA, and Expo Chicago. The gallery has a program of 6-8 curated solo shows per year in its exhibition space, and is well known for offering rising artists and designers their first New York solo exhibition. The gallery has a 6,000 volume library and open object storage--both features which emphasize Parrish's predilection for sharing knowledge. From 2017-2020 in collaboration with Zoe Fisher, Parrish co-ran Fisher Parrish Gallery, which exhibited mostly young and emerging artists and designers in their Bushwick, Brooklyn gallery. Parrish authored The Hunt: Navigating the Worlds of Art & Design, which was published in 2018 by powerHouse Books. In 2022, Parrish opened The Secret Watch Shop, the professional culmination of more than twenty years of collecting watches.
