Babür Kerim İncedayı

BABÜR KERIM İNCEDAYI is an interior and industrial designer based in İstanbul. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts at the Department of Interior Design in Istanbul and graduated in 1969. From 1969 to 1974, he studied and worked in Italy as well as completed research on industrial design in Rome and Milan. İncedayı returned to Turkey in 1975 and started to teach in the Industrial Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts.

In 2003, İncedayı established a new department called ”Art and Design” at the Yeditepe University in İstanbul, and is still the head teacher of this department. He has competed in several international art and design competitions and has participated in exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. Some of his designs have been published in international journals such as Interforniture, Interni, Casa Vogue, Vomo Vogue, and Arreda. His work focuses on the reproduction of traditional forms and values in modern design and on transmitting them into everyday life. In his 2004 solo exhibition, “Forming from the Past to the Future”, he drew inspiration from ancient times and their reflections on today’s industrial design.
