Kenneth Licht

KENNETH LICHT (1923 - 2016) was an American artist known for his vibrant, geometric paintings and illustrations. Licht won a full scholarship to Tyler School of Fine Art of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and received his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

After moving to the East Coast, Licht became a professional architectural renderer for Ferno, Kempa, and Schwartz in NYC before establishing his own architectural illustration business, creating over 2,000 renderings for architects. His work appeared in textbooks and magazines, including Architectural Forum and Progressive Architecture.

Licht later returned to his love of fine art, working with various mediums to create sculptures from boxes of found objects (in the style of Joseph Cornell) along with smaller geometric paintings done in acrylic.

He had numerous one-man shows and his box collections were exhibited in the Bergen Museum of Art and Science in Bergen County, New Jersey.
